After a number of years of inactivity, our choir has been brought back together under the direction of our “Musician in Residence” Joseph Bush. There are more than twelve dedicated members who meet on Monday evening at 7:30 and on Sunday mornings at 9:30 every week. Since the return of the choir in September 2017, they have provided a varied selection of arrangement every Sunday during the church service at Calvary. Under Joe’s wonderful direction the group continues to learn and grow musically together. The choir has been dubbed the “Joe Bush Singers”.
On Saturday, May 18, 2018 Calvary was well represented at the PresbyBuild (Habitat for Humanity) Talent Show at First Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, NY, Joe played Prelude in G Minor by Rachmaninov, J, our pastor, sang a medley of spirituals and the choir presented 2 pieces, “Grace” and “Ain’t Got Time to Die” featuring John Clark as soloist. They rocked the house and got a standing ovation!
Video of both pieces by the Choir are below along with the sound tracks for both Joe and J’s performances. Just click and enjoy!
